Mr. Caricari

I encourage all parents and students to check grades on Parent Portal to make sure that all assignments have been submitted and graded. With only 9 days left in the first semester, it is very important to finish strong. For those who have yet to utilize Parent portal, please go to the following link for information on signing up: Parent Portal .

This past week our Honors Chorus students performed at the Nation Ford High School Auditorium on Tuesday evening. Congratulations to our 7th and 8th-Grade Honors Chorus students and Mrs. Bouldin on a job well–done! We also continued with our winter sports schedules, as our basketball teams and wrestlers were in action. Please see the “Athletics“ section below for game results. FMMS hosted the All-County Band Auditions again this year. We are excited to announce that fourteen of our band students were selected to the York County Middle School Honor Band Clinic.

This coming week is very busy at FMMS! We have home basketball games on Monday and Thursday, our winter Band Concert on Wednesday at the NFHS Auditorium, and we have our Musical Theatre students performing Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. Tuesday thru Friday. The Direction of Your Dreams

We are winding down our Career Exploration video series.  Friday’s videos focused on Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, Architecture and Construction, and Government and Public Administration.  In the video spotlighting Hospitality and Tourism, students were reminded of the great tourist destinations we have in or near Fort Mill.  When you are visiting Carowinds, the Greenway, etc., talk with your child about the types of jobs that may be available at those locations.  As my contact at Carowinds says, “It’s not just rides and food!”  Next week’s videos will wrap up the series.  Students will learn about the Manufacturing career cluster, their choices after high school, and what career exploration opportunities they will have in middle school.

Season’s Greetings FMMS Families!

We are still in need of gift card and cookie donations for our Teacher and Staff Holiday Appreciation that will take place this Friday Dec.15th.

This will be our third year hosting this event. It was created because many families wanted to show appreciation for our teachers during the holiday season but because our students each have six or so teachers it could be costly for families. This event assures that EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER of FMMS receives a gift!

Please read below about the event and email us with any questions.

Annual Holiday Cookie and Gift Card Exchange for Teachers and Staff.

We are asking our generous FMMS families to donate $25 gift cards to help celebrate our outstanding teachers and staff this holiday season. Our goal is to have a wide variety of gift cards so that every teacher and staff member receives a gift card!

  • $25 gift cards of any type in an envelope marked “PTO gift card request” may be brought to Mrs. Barrett at the front office no later than December 12th.
  • Cash/Check donations in ANY AMOUNT are welcome so that we may purchase gift cards.(please make checks out to FMMS PTO).
  • There will be a PTO representative on Tuesday Dec.12 at the School Store: 7:40-8:05 am to take gift cards or donations. Students can drop by when they are arriving that morning.
  •  If you would like to donate cookies, brownies, bars, candies, cake pops or other bite-size baked goods for the Cookie Exchange, please go to the Sign-Up Genius:  Cookies need to be dropped off at the school on or before December 15 at 9:00 am.

Thank You for your continued support and Happy Holidays!
